Captain Kirsty extends her contract with Reading FC Women

"I couldn’t see myself anywhere else.”

Reading FC Women are thrilled that Kirsty Pearce has extended her contract and will be remaining as a Royal. Pearce previously played for Portsmouth for 10 years, before joining Reading in 2014. Just a year later she captained the side to promotion to the FA Women’s Super League 1.

Kirsty mentions how she feels about the extension of her contract; “Delighted to sign again for another season, I couldn’t see myself anywhere else.”

Not only does Pearce captain the first team, she also supports with the RTC across all age groups. Having previously worked for Portsmouth Community, Pearce understands the importance of being a role model. When asked what does it mean for the club to gain Tier 2 status for the RTC Pearce explains: “I’ve always been really interested in player development and I think the pathway from the under 10’s going all the way up to the first team, it’s great and I think the staff have done a really good job. It’s something the club can be really proud of.”
