Player Contracts Expire
Reading FC Women would like to thank Harriet Scott, Kirsty Linnett and Melissa Fletcher for their hard work and commitment, we wish them the very best of luck for the future.
Reading FC Women can today confirm that Harriet Scott, Melissa Fletcher and Kirsty Linnett will be leaving the club following the expiration of their contracts.
Harriet started playing for Reading Centre of Excellence from the age of 10 and went through the age groups all the way up to senior level. She was part of the squad that won WSL 2 and gained promotion to into WSL 1. Alongside her achievements at Reading, Harriet is now a part of the Republic of Ireland team and recently was named FAI Women’s Player of the Year. She leaves Reading to pursue other options, which the club wish her well with.
Melissa has also been a long-term Royal, having joined club at the age of 8. Before the team became full time in WSL1, Melissa juggled playing football alongside her career as a chartered accountant. When given the opportunity to become a full time professional, she jumped at the chance. Melissa has also represented her country and is still a regular in the Welsh squad.
Kirsty Linnett joined Reading along with Jade Moore and Jo Potter in May 2017. Linnett represented England at U15, U17, U20 and U23’s, scoring two goals in 12 matches for the national team in UEFA competitions. Appearing for the royals in 20 games, Linnett played her part in the team by scoring 3 goals to secure 4th place in the WSL1. Kirsty will be relocating after her contract expires and plans to pursue options with clubs in the North West.
